The key to gaining approval to become the next LTK Creator is based on the following criteria:

  • A public social media profile, with consistent posts and activity.
  • A significant and engaged following on at least one social media channel.
  • At least 4 months of original, high-quality, shoppable content.
  • Clean editorial design that engages your audience and highlights your expertise.

Our team has put together some helpful tips to help you on your journey to become the next top-earning LTK Creator. We’re here to help you get back to basics. Remember, it’s the little things that help you build a solid foundation to start your business as an LTK Creator.

1. Find your niche

What makes you special or unique? Your niche should be genuine and a true reflection of who you are and what you love. Your shoppable content should be original to you, whether you took the photos and videos yourself or own the rights to them.

It’s key to remember to tap into various verticals in order to grow your following; perhaps your niche is budget-friendly fashion; can you also share budget-friendly make-up or skincare? Think about the things that inspire you and the products you love—and always be authentic.

Curating fresh content can seem daunting, but the beauty of content is the various facets that can be used. For example, one outfit can yield many unique posts:

  1. Full body shots from various angles
  2. Close up and beauty shots
  3. Shoe and accessory shots
  4. Selfie shot pointing down (front angle)
  5. Shoe shots
  6. Day in the life shots (Eating, walking, sunsets, dinner, anything aesthetically pleasing.)
  7. Day in the life videos (Eating, walking, sunsets, dinner, anything aesthetically pleasing.)
  8. Full body video (10 seconds)
  9. Selfie-angle video

From those shots you can create multiple assets:

  1. Carousel post
  2. Contextual image (more professional)
  3. Mirror selfie
  4. Body selfie
  5. Flat lay
  6. Personal content (wearing item or with product in background, but general non-shoppable content)
  7. Videos (Instagram Reels, TikToks, or YouTube Shorts)
  8. Idea pins on Pinterest
  9. Instagram and TikTok Stories

4. Engage with your followers

In order to grow your brand as an influencer, you must keep your audience engaged; and at the root of all this is optimized content. In 2023, there are estimated to be more than 4B total social media users worldwide. The average person bounces between seven different social networks per month, according to Sprout Social

Let’s take a look at some simple ways to break through the noise and keep your audience engaged:

  1. Be authentic and relatable.
  2. Ask your followers questions.
  3. Ask for questions.
  4. Host a giveaway.
  5. Post timely content.
  6. Be specific to your niche.
  7. Reply to comments.
  8. Share quality photos and videos.
  9. Lean into trending hashtags and sounds that make sense for your brand.
  10. Post useful information that’s relevant to you and your brand.

The key to social media engagement is authenticity, consistency, and value. Publish thoughtful, relatable content often and on a schedule, and actively respond to your followers’ comments. It is essential to foster and nurture your connection with your audience to drive higher engagement.

These simple steps will help you grow your following. Your audience looks to you for inspiration and purchase confidence. Most applicants who successfully re-apply spend at least 60 days building their brand socially. After you’ve confidently curated a social media presence that is original, consistent, visually appealing, and engaging it’s time to re-apply to become an LTK Creator!
