Switching to a Pinterest business account will:

• • Help your pins, boards, and profile show up more frequently in Pinterest user searches

  • Give you access to your Pinterest Analytics so you can see which content is performing best

  • Prompt you to claim your website (and confirm your domain) in your account information. This essentially tells Pinterest you’re a legit user, which will help with your overall ranking and discoverability!

Pin LTK content

Did you know that you can seamlessly pin your LTK content to Pinterest when you’re publishing from the LTK Creator app? Simply choose Pinterest when launching, and pin away! 

Before you do so, follow the tips below:

• • Add strategic keywords in the caption to help with discoverability

  • Utilize discoverable hashtags including the dedicated LTK hashtags, you can add up to 20 hashtags to your pin. Use this to your advantage and choose hashtags that are relevant and specific to your content to boost SEO.

  • Create a LTK Pinterest board to syndicate all of your LTK content (ex: “Shoppable Outfits”, “Shop My Looks”, “Shop My Home”)

After you publish, go to Pinterest and make sure your pin is linked directly to your LTK post rather than your LTK profile. 

Create pin-worthy images

The best-performing pins are typically lifestyle images, images that incorporate a product into your lifestyle, or segways to useful guides, such as recipe or travel blog posts. As for the most ideal Pin size, 600 x 900 pixels is right on the money! The Pinterest algorithm favours the 2:3 proportion images.

It’s important to note that long vertical images no longer perform well on Pinterest, as they get pushed down on the feed.

Get Found

Creating and pinning high-quality content on a regular basis tells Pinterest that you’re a legitimate user, and to rank your content higher in results and home feeds for your shoppers to see. The better your “Pinner Quality” (the metric Pinterest uses to rank users), the more you get seen. A few ways to boost your Pinner Quality:

• • Be active on Pinterest throughout the day

  • Pin already popular content on your boards. Browse the “popular” category

  • Increase your saves

  • Increase your follower engagement

Plan ahead

Just like all other social platforms, timing is everything! Plan your editorial calendar at least 60 days ahead, and optimize performance by:

• • Looking at holidays and other events you want to pin about, and adding them to your calendar ahead of time

  • Creating new pins for the same post a little closer the time to refresh scrollers’ interest

  • Pinning other people’s content around holidays. Publishing a mix of both original and curated content is the best route to go. Stray away from only publishing your own content.

  • Publishing your own content 45-60 days before an event or holiday to maximize traffic and exposure. 75% of pins are saved 1-2 months before an event, and 25% of pins are saved 2-4 months before an event!

Cross-promote

Once you get your Pinterest properly organized and set up, start cross-promoting it across your social channels! Use Instagram “swipe-ups” to link to your latest pin or your profile, and add a Pinterest widget to the sidebar of your site if you haven’t already.
