Instagram Stories allow Creators to hyperlink their content with Link Stickers, used to promote specific products or content straight from organic Stories. Read on for tips and tricks for earning more in the LTK App through Instagram Story promotion.
What are Link Stickers?
- In 2021, Instagram eliminated the “swipe-up” link in Instagram Stories.
- In place of the “swipe-up” call to action, all Instagram creators (instead of just verified accounts or those with over 10K followers) will instead be able to use the new Link Sticker.
- Viewers are now able to react and reply to posts that have the Link Sticker attached, just like any other Story. (Before, that sort of feedback wasn’t possible on posts with the swipe-up link.)
What it means for you:
- There will be no change to functionality with LTK linking, but you have an opportunity to be even more clear with your followers on how to shop!
- Like polls, questions and location stickers, the Link Sticker enables creators to toggle between different styles, resize the sticker, and then place it anywhere on their Story for maximum engagement. It will also help Creators align with their own brands.
What action should you take?
- Use the Sticker with text to drive additional clicks through your Story links:
- Be consistent on how you reference the link on your stories to train your shoppers to look for the link and click to explore
- Suggestions: “Shop Here: link” or “Quick Link to Shop: link” or “Click here: link”
- Link to LTK posts, Collections, and LTK Shop urls, which will now show as shopltk.com. The new urls will be intuitive for your followers to click and shop.
- Use one sticker with one link to a LTK post or your Shop on LTK versus utilizing multiple overwhelming links to multiple items.
- Make sure your LTK Shop is fully built out to drive followers to your single destination. Your Shop will work on your behalf to retarget your shoppers and send reminders to buy, doing the work for you. Utilize this highest converting channel and teach your followers on how to use the LTK App with these Story templates.
- Continue using the bundle (#, @, link) in your social posts to bring your followers to LTK.
Follow these tips for increased click throughs:
- Always make your link sticker look the exact same way. We recommend the following options:
- BUY NOW
- LINK
- YOUR BRAND NAME
- Consider calling attention to the link with a CLICK HERE or TAP TO SHOP visual like the examples below
- Limit each slide to just the link sticker. Do not add other stickers which might confuse your followers.
- Call out the link if you are talking in the story.
- Place your link sticker in the same place on your story each time, so your followers learn where to click quickly. Shoppers were previously trained to swipe up, test the placement towards the bottom to capture the muscle memory habit.
- Encourage viewers to ask questions about the product or link via swipe-up instead. Engage by responding back to those who swipe-up.
- Remember that the algorithm loves when you use a new feature!
